Grade 10-12
Designed for your child
Can you imagine if your child’s school designed a learning path with them in mind? We can! And we have. Our experienced teaching team have thoughtfully designed an academic programme built on current best practices in education to maximise the online learning experience for each child that attends Koa.
This is more than just school-on-a-screen! Koa’s unique approach was created to be native to the online space. Our focus on high engagement ensures that your child has the academic and socio-emotional support that they need to grow and thrive.

Subject not on our list?
If there is a specific subject which you want to take that we do not offer, you can reach out to us to find out about taking an elective subject with a third-party service provider.
The Academics
We leverage the full potential of the online space by sourcing the best content and platforms from around the world, curated and streamlined with the IEB curriculum. Our senior subject specialist teachers are passionate about their area of expertise, and ensure that your child has a highly engaging experience when it comes to learning their subject. We also keep an eye on the grade 12 exit point, ensuring that a robust academic program thoroughly prepares them for their matric finals and beyond.
So how does it work? Your child will access their learning platforms independently each day, allowing them to follow an individualised daily timetable which suits them, access the best content from around the world, and have a certain degree of flexibility when it comes to learning pace.
Prefer to do your subjects in a different order? No problem. Want to access the best Math content in the world? We’ve got it! Need to spend more time on English? You can!
Our programme has contact time with the teacher in different formats. This is not support on some vague ‘as and when needed’ basis. This is prioritised as part of our everyday rhythm and ensures that your child has the academic support they need on-the-go. Your child will have touch-points with their teacher during Pod Connect, Check-in, Workshops and Masterclasses.
Pod Connect: soft skills
Your child regularly meets in their Pod of 8 to connect. Companies don’t just hire content experts - they hire people. That’s why we intentionally make time to grow relationships and develop key soft skills.
Check-in: progress and coaching
Pods meet with their teachers to check on their academic progress and get feedback on work submitted.
Workshop: academic support
Small groups get together with their subject teacher to cover a particular topic of work. This is a collaborative, interactive time aimed at sharpening academic skills and trouble-shooting problem areas.
Masterclass: key subject content
Independent work throughout the week is punctuated by regular Masterclasses. These are seminars hosted by subject teachers to cover key concepts and help pace the work covered throughout the year.
